The war between the Terrans, Protoss and Zerg have been a defining moment for Tarsonis and the Terran Dominion. It shifted the borders of the known Universe, and forever changed the way people who lived through it think.

No one was prepared for the great onslaught of the Zerg. First thriving to survive on these new found harsh worlds, the Terran have found a drastically powerfull ennemy. Then the war raged for days. Weeks after the first attack, a group of brave Marines and Firebat of the 8th regiment of the ground army, commanded by the Captain Miller, has been asked to find the last of the four brothers of the Raynor family: Jim. John, the first of the four, has been killed while the dropship he was in exploded when a missile of their own army's launchers reached the cockpit of their vessel accidentally. William, the second one of the Raynor, accidentally entered in contact with a bird while piloting his wraith in a reconnaissance mission on Aiur, and crashed on the iced mountains peaks of this planet. The third one, Michel has been found in several peices after a dozen of Rhynadons attacked him while he was cooking his dinner in a temporary base camp. Jim is still alive, on Korhal. The troop charged to found him had to hurry, sightings of a large Protoss fleet ready to incenerate the whole planet have been reported.

As the squad walks deeper and deeper into the ennemy's territory, Captain Miller's men find themselves questioning their orders. Why is one man worth risking eight... why do they absolutely need to do so? Why is the life of this private worth more than their own? Because this man is Jim Raynor, and the StarCraft campaign would have no sense without him told Miller to his troop, without knowing what this phrase he has been asked to say in this condition meant.

Reaching the red dot their detectors shown for hours, Miller's men arrived next to a large Chrysalis. Oh my god! one marine said. They are assililating him! Without thinking too much of the potential danger of their acts, Miller's squad charged on the few zerglings protecting the huge cocoon, and easily killed them. As they were trying to release the private from this infernal and juicy prison, a voice was heard behind them: Thank godness you've returned, much has changed since you lived here my friend! That was Raynor! Then... what's in this chrysalis, told Miller. It's ... sigh ... Kerrigan. We can't do anything, she's a Zerg now. I thought I could help her, but it's too late. I will end my days at the same time the real Kerrigan will die. No! told the captain. Your 3 brothers are dead, we have been charged to found you and bring you back on Tarsonis. So you will come with us, I want to have that cheque the administrators promised us, as well as this barrel-sized Beer mug. Beer! Gulp! told Raynor, I'm thirsty, on the way for Tarsonis!

This is how the last remnant of the Raynor family found his way to a secure land, and lived his life like a hero in the Terran colonies. The moral of this story: none. Oh, maybe: better late than never.
